<itunes:summary>There is an old saying in life, which also can be applied to many SEO methods … if it’s not broke, don’t fix it! Changing your title tags if your site is ranking well for search terms is just madness; it can have a very detrimental affect and can take you a long time to bounce back, especially if your new title tags are considered worse by the search engines.
Changing things for the sake of changing them is pointless.
Only change your title tags if you are not ranking well for the majority of your desired keywords and then don’t rest your hopes on a miraculous ranking surge just because you change your title tags. Title tags are one of the biggest ranking factors when looking at SEO overall, so you need to spend much time researching your keywords and competitors. When you put your new site live, one of the biggest earliest ranking factors is the strength of your title tags and also the quality of the H1 tags throughout your main pages.
If you have been ranking really well and you decide to play around with your title tags, bear in mind Google and the other engines will take time to notice the changes and will also take time to re-rank you depending on your changes and the quality of these. If you rankings have taken a slight drop then you might want to consider looking at all of these factors, but if your doing well and continuing to get good traffic, leave things alone and concentrate on other factors.
If you are looking to improve your ranking, concentrate on writing high quality content and getting this on a fully optimised site. Make sure all of your optimisation on the site is the best it can be and try to start thinking about how to increase traffic for your keywords and focus on content writing, article writing and submission and link building.
Jumping in and changing things around just because you want to see if you can improve on good results is a really risky thing to do. If the engines like your changes then that’s great, but you will still need to wait some time to see if they have, and if they really dislike what you have done then you could be in good trouble. Many webmasters think you can play around and then just revert to the old structure if things don’t work out. But, this is not the case as it will take time for the engines to see your new changes and then see you going back to your old way, so it could take months for things to settle down.
SEO takes time and effort, so concentrate on getting things really perfect in terms of on site optimisation and content and once again, do not play around just for the sake of it, it all takes time so have patience and concentrate on doing the right things for your site.

<itunes:summary>Domain names are often considered something of a catch if you land the perfect keyworded url or one that you have been waiting for, for ages. Many webmasters make the mistake of buying up hundreds of domain names and never use them correctly, as sometimes people think just owning loads of domain names will help you to rank highly in the search engines.
Below, we take a look at some things to think about when you decide to purchase domain names for future use.
Choose Carefully – Choose your domain carefully. Buying domain names for the sake of it is pointless; you need to make sure that they have some relevance to what you are doing. For example, if you were selling furniture then buying a few domain names for chairs, tables and desks is a great idea, buying generic ones that have no value or relevance to what you do is not so.
Hosting – Having a domain redirected to another website does not mean you have a “website” earning ranking. If you have a domain name it must be hosted and actually have content on the site to actually be indexed and be treated as a website. Having hundreds of domain names means nothing to a search engine, they have to be hosted and have some sort of content to be ranked and therefore help you to rank with other sites as well.
Holding Pages – If you have 30 domain names then if you can afford to it is a good idea to get them hosted and have a holding page for each, even if it gives you a chance to start working on them over the next few years. Domain name history and site history is a big factor in ranking placements, so if you can get all of your domain names earning some kind of history then this will only benefit you in the future. You do not have to buy individual hosting for each if you have this many, consider buying a reseller account from a company like Heart Internet which only works out at about £35 a month for unlimited hosting, but do bear in mind they normally will have the same IP which will affect linking purposes.
Different Content – So many webmasters think that owning loads of domain names and simply replicating the content, or changing just a couple of words or page names will be good enough to give them “unique” ranking and everything will be ok. Any website you produce needs hard work, you need have completely unique content and all need to be fully optimised. Just owning lots of domain names doesn’t mean you will get great ranking for all of them; you must make sure you put hard work and effort into all of them.
Link Building – Owning multiple domains can be a good way of building links between your network of sites, but the one thing you need to do is make sure they are relevant and hosted of different servers. For example, a kitchen appliance company could own four domain names:
Ovensonline
 Kitchenappliancesuk
 Cheapdishawashers
 Discountwashingmachines
As long as all of these were hosted on different servers to make sure they had different IP address, you could quite happily link them to each other to build up some links, as long as they are good quality websites, have good content and you are not doing this for spam purposes.

<itunes:summary>Starting a search engine optimisation campaign can be a daunting and worrying thing to do, especially if it’s your first time or it’s a site you simply have to get things moving for. There are some areas that if you get right from the beginning can really help to make sure your SEO campaign will be a success and it is vital that you make sure you get the preparation completed before you begin with the SEO practises.
Below, we look at the things we consider absolutely vital to make sure you get right before you crack on with your successful SEO campaign.
Set Your Budget – If you are going to employ the services of an SEO company it is vital you work out how much you can afford to spend on their offerings. Most good companies will tailor a package to suit your budget. It really is so important you do not spend more money than you can afford because if an expensive campaign means the end for your company financially then it will just be wasted money. It is far better to begin with a realistic budget for a few months and then up the amount you spend once you see the success of the campaign, although this will take some time in most cases.
Work Out Your Content – A successful SEO campaign relies on content; content is the king when it comes to good traffic and a successful website. You need to make sure you can set aside enough time to write articles, press releases and blogs, because to get to the top of your game you need to work so hard on content writing and producing quality information. Many people overlook the importance of good content in an SEO campaign, thinking that a few links and Twitter posts is all you need, but, sadly, this is so far from the truth its unreal.
Identify Areas Of Focus – Another common mistake that some webmasters make is to not identify the areas that they really wish to concentrate on. SEO is made up of so many factors, link building, article submissions, press releases, social media and many other things that you simply can not concentrate on them all. Focus on the ones you know you can achieve, for some this will be loads of good content for article submission and for some it will be making videos that you can reap the rewards of social media traffic from.
Set Out Your “Dream” Keywords – Many webmasters forget to do the vital thing when they are beginning their SEO campaign and this is to work out and identify the keywords they are really interested in improving the rankings for. Obviously, every site owner wants to be top for the really big earning keywords, but sometimes you have to look at the lesser used but easier to rank for keywords and the long tail keywords that will get you immediate traffic. It is much better and more effective to focus on the lesser used keywords than the most used in the early days, because ranking for these top keywords will take much longer and will be easier to aim for when your site has been around for a long time.
Look At Your Site – Search engine optimisation begins at home and by this we mean that if your site is poorly optimised then your SEO campaign will be a complete waste of time and money. It is the equivalent of spending thousands of pounds advertising your new shop and then forgetting to order any stock, it is just not realistic to drive all this extra traffic to your site and then see people quickly leave because it’s just not right. Make sure that before you begin your campaign your site is as good as it can possibly be in terms of navigation, structure, content and loading time, because it has to be spot on to really make the most of the extra visitors your campaign will hopefully send to you.

<itunes:summary>Imagine a website that gets millions of visitors every day and is rapidly expanding beyond all imagination. Now, imagine this site with a video from your company on with a chance of reaching all these millions of people.
YouTube has take the Internet by storm, offering millions of online video clips covering everything from dancing dogs through to the latest TV programs from some of the UK’s leading TV stations. Most of the videos on YouTube are posted by everyday people either seeking fame or wanting to get their message across and this is a prime opportunity for any business, service or product to get a big focus on what they are offering, and all of this for free!
The types of video that can work really well for your website include –
How To Videos – Everyone needs to know something at some stage of their life and with other people often knowing how to do what is needed, you can bet your money that they will have released a “how to” video on YouTube. This can be a fantastic way of getting traffic for your product or service. For example, if you were selling vacuum cleaners you could release a video titled “How To Remove Tough Stains With A Vacuum Cleaner” and show them how its done. This type of advertising can take a while to really prosper, but after a few videos you will soon become an authority for this field and people will remember you when it comes to choosing a related product.
Location Videos – If you are planning a trip to see a town in the middle of the country or are looking to take a holiday in a sunnier place, you will often have a quick look on YouTube to see what it is like and whether it will suit you. Therefore, if your company or service is based in such a location, you can turn this around to your advantage and record an informational video about the area whilst also making sure you mention your product or services within the masterpiece.
Informational / Tutorial Videos – With the emergence of sites like YouTube and Dailymotion in the past two years, more and more internet users are turning to these sites if they are stuck doing something and need more help. For example, if you are unsure how to use your new coffee machine or need help when it comes to changing a fuse, you will find a video that will take you through the process, meaning an end to printing and reading endless guides and instruction documents.
Top Tips Videos – Everyone loves top tips, traditionally in the form of articles like this one, but these days more so in the video format as people do not really have the time to read a lot of information in this busy world so are quickly turning to video. The nice thing about top tips videos is that you are normally doing a video to promote your product or service, so you can easily speak with confidence and knowledge with regards to the message you are trying to get across.
Funny / Controversial Videos – Although you have to be very, very careful when it comes to posting a video of this nature, it can sometimes work in your favour to have something humorous or a little controversial which could end up becoming viral. Bear in mind we have written this article from a business or services website point of view, so you do need to make sure that if you do try and do something a little bit different that it does not do any harm to your reputation or standing for the information you offer.

<itunes:summary>As any webmaster knows, the sight of the red arrow on your Google Analytics or statistic software indicating a downturn in traffic often makes the heart drop, with many hitting the panic button and not quite considering why. Often, when traffic drops there can be many reasons other than being penalised or your search engine optimisation not working correctly.
Below, we look at some of the outside influences and factors that you must consider before hitting the red panic mode button.
The Weather – On a hot, sunny Saturday in the middle of July you will find the majority of people sitting in a park having a barbeque or spending the day with their family in the back garden relaxing and enjoying themselves. Whenever the UK has a good summer, especially on weekends and bank holiday weekends, the Internet usage tends to drop as most people would rather be outside making the most of the good weather which traditionally doesn’t last very long.
Time of Year – As the evenings draw in heading towards the winter, you will get a higher usage of Internet traffic as most users spend more time online as they spend less time outside. Also, this coincides with the Christmas purchase period, which if you are running an online shop or Ecommerce operation should see a much higher level of visitors than in most other periods throughout the year.
Regular Events – Christmas Day, St Patricks Day, Easter Sunday and so on, the list of regular events, including bank holidays if the weather is good, will see most Internet users doing other things, even the most hardened surfer. There is a lot of proof that on certain days of the year, especially those mentioned in this paragraph there is less Internet traffic, which will have an effect on your website visits, sales and performance.
Special Events – With the World Cup in South Africa drawing to a close, you need to take into account that during certain events many people will be a million miles away from the Internet, with the recent England v Germany game a prime example, with most of the country either glued to the TV or outside in the sunshine. It is important to remember that certain events will lead people away from the Internet and if there are fewer people surfing, you are of course going to receive less traffic.
Seasonal Information / Activities – Some websites perform better than others at certain times of the year due to the fact the service they offer can be reliant on the time of year. For example, if you are offering traditional seasonal information or activities, like canoeing or outdoor activities, you will expect your traffic to begin rising in the spring and rocket in the summer, as people want this type of activity then. But, in the winter when people would rather be tucked up inside in the warm your traffic is bound to naturally fall.

<itunes:summary>Writing an article takes time, writing a good article takes even longer and writing a brilliant article takes time, skill and effort. Article and content writing is not easy because you have to make your information both accurate and interesting, and it takes time and knowledge to really make a good article read well and yet still maintain some degree of interest.
Below, we look at some top tips when it comes to writing a popular article that will hopefully spread across the net.
Work Out Your Niche – Try to look at the niche that you feel most comfortable with. We tend to stick to web design, SEO and computer related articles because this is the topic niche that we know the most about and therefore can product the strongest content on. By focusing on one niche or area, you can begin to gain reputation and authority in this area, which will make your content appear more often as the word begins to spread about your writing skills in an area.
Look At Existing Articles – Check out some of the most popular articles around at the moment and then try to make variations of them. This is not plagiarism because you are not copying them; you are simply taking inspiration from them and then forming a brand new piece of content from it. For example, if you find an article about “Top five ways to train your dog” you could then expand on this, maybe do top ten, or even write your own top five tips if you think you have different methods.
Focus On Current News – Current news stories and topics are often a fantastic thing to write about, mainly because it will tend to attract a much wider audience, rather than those just looking at or for a certain subject. Current news subjects tend to get a massive peak of searches when the news is currently a hot topic, for obvious reasons, so you do need to be quick when it comes to writing these articles as if you take too long you will miss the boat and the traffic! For example, as an SEO company, when Google releases its new product or service, we would make sure we are one of the first to write about it, because we know that the increase in search terms for this information would be much higher.
Be A Little Controversial – Always a fine balance to get right, but sometimes it does not hurt to be a little controversial about your subject. Maybe you can look at the bad things regarding a product or a service instead of the positives, even maybe looking at something that is massively negative and trying to put something positive on it. But, do be careful to not be massively controversial, as this will backfire and could start causing lots of issues in the months after release.
Write About What You Know – The final and probably most important thing you can do as an article or content writer is to write about what you know. If you have to write about things that are outside of your boundaries then needs must and all you can do is research. But, if you write about something you do every day or work in the industry, then your articles and information are obviously going to come across as much stronger, as if you can not write about something you do for a living then maybe writing is simply not the best route for you!

<itunes:summary>Running a successful email campaign takes time, practice and a little bit of luck and skill, but there are things you can do to make sure that your email advertisement has a good chance of success. Sending an email campaign is not like any other type of advertisement; you have to get so many things just right to really have any chance of using email to sell your product or service.
Intriguing Title – Most people get a lot of emails every day, with the majority of them being spam which usually just goes unread or deleted without a second thought. This is the main reason you have to make sure your email title or subject is as catchy as can be, enough to draw the person to open the email and read it but not so quirky it will be flagged as spam and therefore never have the chance of being read!
Catching Introduction – The first paragraph should explain to the reader exactly what the email is about and therefore why they should continue reading it. You can try to make this introduction quite thought provoking or you can get straight to the point and tell the reader why they need to read on and what benefit doing so will give to them. You really have to make the reader want to know more.
Clear Message – Confusing emails do not work. They will just annoy the reader and you will totally lose the chance of selling your product or service within a few minutes of the email being opened. Make sure your email doesn’t try to do much or sell too many things and make sure that when the reader has opened the email they get the immediate understanding of what you are trying to say quickly and efficiently.
Concise Content – Keep it brief, keep it short and above all keep it nice and simple. Don’t try and pack your email full of loads of text that just goes on forever. The best email campaigns are the ones that contain little information but still manage to deliver the original point of the email quickly to the reader and the audience.
Few Images – Do try to keep the amount of images to a minimum, as the more images your email has, the longer it takes to load for the person reading the email and it also stands more chance of being flagged as potentially unsafe as some emails user pictures to serve viruses etc
Compressed Graphics – If you are going to have images on your email campaign, make sure they are compressed and not too large, as the person reading your email will be pretty unhappy if it takes ages to load and wastes their time. Serve the images from a server rather than embedding them in the email and make sure they are as optimised and compressed as they can be whilst still looking sharp and quality.
Call To Action – Many email campaigns make one fatal mistake and this mistake is not giving the user the ability to take things further without having to hunt for the correct contact details. Make sure you include all of your contact information and make sure you display it in quite an obvious way and place, because if you are wanting the reader to pick up the phone and place an order and you cant find the phone number on the email, you have lost the sale as people will simply just not wait or hunt around for information.

<itunes:summary>One of the most appealing factors about the Facebook Cost Per Click advertising is the depth of targeting you can achieve for all of your adverts. Even though Google Adwords is catching up with the level of options available, Facebook currently allows you to select and define your audience much more specifically, which for an advertiser can only be a good thing.
The more of the “unrelated” audience you can remove from seeing your advert and therefore clicking on it and wasting your money the better, and with the amount of selections you can make with Facebook you should really be able to achieve near perfect targeting of your audience. As every advertiser knows, if you can remove most of the audience that will not really be worth paying for before they have a chance to click on your advert, the more money you will end up saving both in wasted clicks and receiving much better traffic.
So, what options does Facebook have that make their system perfect for targeted, paid traffic?
Location – Because of the level of information you need to put into Facebook before you can have a profile, they have a much better understanding of the demographics of their users, meaning the targeting is much improved on other PPC programs. With the location selection on Facebook, you can not only target people from a specific country, but you can also select the city as well and then set a radius for people from surrounding areas. If you had a small shop in Cardiff that only sold to people calling into the shop and not online, this means that you could only have your advert show to people in Cardiff and the surrounding areas.
Age – Being able to select the age of your preferred audience is really useful if you are selling something age specific, maybe along the lines of life insurance or mortgage protection, as you would assume that only certain age categories would want this. It also helps to deliver different kind of adverts to people of different agents, which is proved to be necessary for getting the maximum reward from an advertisement campaign.
Gender – If your product is gender specific, things like some kind of insurances or clothing, to be able to select the desired sex of your audience is a necessity, as it will eliminate the chance of unrelated or wanted click throughs, again, saving you money and getting more from your budget.
Languages Spoken – Some products, services or offerings are sometimes related to a specific nationality, religion or language and Facebook gives you the power to only advertise to people that speak certain languages. This can work two ways, the main being removing people who can not understand the native tongue of your advert, hence saving wasting click throughs and the other is too really target specific nationalities and languages.
Likes And Interests – This is a really fantastic little filter if your advert is hobby or craft related, because you can actually select your advert to only be show to people who have selected something related as this interest. For example, if you were selling Manchester United football shirts, you could select to only display your adverts to people interested in sports or football, which would be an obviously targeted audience for your product or service.
